Day 1
You will be met upon arrival in Lima and transferred to your hotel.
Day 2

You will be transferred from your hotel to the airport for your flight Lima to Cusco. In the afternoon you will be taken to explore Cusco and the Inca sites of Sacsayhuaman, Tambomachay and Kenko, as well as the Main Plaza and Cathedral in Cusco.
Day 3
(B)
Day to acclimatize in Cusco in preparation for your Inca Trail trek.
Day 4
(B,L,D)
Set off for a shortened trip designed to provide a taste of the Inca Trail without hiking the full length and without the camping. The journey begins by train from Cusco and you will hike for 6 hours the first day. You will first see Machu Picchu from the spectacular viewpoint of Inti Punku, which means the Gate of the Sun. From here you will descend into the world famous "Lost City." Overnight close to Machu Picchu.
Day 5

You will return to Machu Picchu at dawn to see the ruins in perfect morning light. In the afternoon, return to Cusco by train.
Day 6
(B,L,D)
Early morning we will take you to Cusco airport for your flight into the Amazon.
We will then transfer you by river to a lodge close to the lake and start your guided exploration of lowland Amazon rainforest.
Day 7

Guided rainforest exploration.
Day 8
(B)
Early morning transfer by motor canoe to the airport. Fly from the Amazon to Lima and to your hotel in the city.
In the afternoon, you will join a visit to the historic sites of Old Lima and the excellent Gold Museum.
Day 9
(B)
After breakfast in your hotel, you will be transferred to the airport for your international departure flight.
