Tailor made extensions to an Antarctic Voyage Waterfalls & Rainforests, Glaciers & Andes |
Argentina is a magnificent country, second only in size to Brazil within South America. Its relative alignment has resulted in an impressive diversity of landscapes and habitats, from the tropical north to its wild and windswept south. The towering Andes mountain range dominates the western border of the country and is home to the largest peaks in the world outside the Himalayas. The long east coast is open to the Atlantic Ocean whilst in the deep south you will find the glaciers of Patagonia and snow capped mountains of Tierra Del Fuego. With such a range of topography, it is no wonder that Argentina contains the diversity of flora and fauna that it does and some spectacular vantage points from which to see it. For the visitor passing through Argentina en route to Antarctica we recommend three highlights not to be missed whilst visiting the country: - The World Heritage site of Iguazu Falls For those who have more time to spare, a visit to the wetlands and grasslands of Ibera is recommended. Located in Corrientes province, this vast network of swamps, lakes, lagoons, islands and channels is second only in scale to Brazil's Pantanal and pays host to an outstanding array of flora and fauna. Our recommended itineraries in Argentina are all tailor-made, so they can all be adjusted to suit your timings and interests.
