Egypt Red Sea Dive Liveaboards
( 8 days from £475)

Hotel Based Diving - Red Sea Central & Southern Egypt
tailor-made throughout the year

Egypt's Red Sea coral reefs are just a short flight across the Mediterranean from Western Europe. Whilst the country is best known as home of some of the Ancient World's last remaining wonders, divers and snorkelers alike will know that it is also home of some of the Planet's most spectacular and diverse undersea environments. Underwater the scene ranges from colourful soft coral encrusted walls, to steep drop offs, numerous major wrecks and some fantastic shore diving. The contrast between the baked desert plains and stark rock formations of the Sinai only help to highlight the incredible marine life that exists here.

The Red Sea has very few rivers entering it so visibility can be excellent, especially at locations further from shore. A northern extension of Africa's Great Rift Valley system, the sea is widening on a daily basis as the Arabian tectonic plate moves to the east. The sea's powerful geological origins have created a deep and narrow sea with parts of the seabed dropping to more than 2,000m at its centre.

With such a variety of sites, the Red Sea is suitable for beginners and more experienced divers. The flat calm seas, shallow reefs and good visibility of the northern Red Sea offer a great location for divers to gain experience. In contrast, in the Southern Red Sea some remote dive sites such as Big Brother provide steep walls and strong currents which are only suited to the more experienced diver.

With its isolated nature, this, the world's northernmost tropical sea, has more than 2,000km of coral fringing reefs. Due to the rich reefs and isolated nature the Red Sea boasts a startling degree to biodiversity with more than 1,200 species of fish recorded. Many of these species (about 20%) are endemic and found nowhere else. 44 species of shark are known from the Red Sea, including Grey Reef Sharks, Oceanic White Tips and Hammerheads.

At Aqua-Firma, we offer you the option of liveaboard based diving dedicated to exploring some of its best undersea environments, or a land-based holiday which enables you to enjoy as much or as little diving as you wish, along with other shore-based options and activities. If you wish to visit some of the Red Sea's finest and most remote destinations, including Daedalus Reef, Big and Little Brother, and St Johns, beyond then a liveaboard is a must. If you want a little more land-based comfort, dive from the shore or visit some of the equally famous and more accessible sites such as Elpinstone, Futy, Sha'ab Samadai or Abu Dabab, then a resort-based experience may be for you. Contact us to discuss your requirements in more detail and we can recommend the perfect trip.

As a fully ATOL bonded company we can also take care of all shore based arrangements and international flights.
