Sri Lanka is a has a long established reputation for vibrant cultures; rolling hills stocked with the finest Ceylon tea; white sand beaches where men sit on tall poles to fish on the incoming tide; ancient temples and a British colonial heritage. It is also an island where rare tropical species of flora, birds and primates reside in precious rainforest refuges; elephants, leopards and antelope share forest, wetland and savannah habitats … and out to sea we find perhaps the World's richest tropical waters for year round opportunities to see Blue Whales, Sperm Whales, Bryde's Whales and superpods of dolphins.

Aqua-Firma first visited Sri Lanka on a mission with Rainforest Concern to see how we could help preserve the country's most precious remnants of rainforest. From firma to aqua, we have since been drawn to explore the country's offshore waters seeking encounters above water and below with the its whales and dolphins. These include Blue Whales which are not just visitors to tropical waters to breed and give birth, but reside in Sri Lanka to feed on krill which is available throughout the year.

Aqua-Firma specialises in bespoke tailor made journeys on land and sea in search of wildlife, marine life and birdlife, as well as simply enjoying the wonderful scenery, coastline and many cultural highlights of Sri Lanka.
