6 days of kayaking, hiking & sightseeing on Breiðarfjörður Bay, combining visits to Stykkishólmur village, Arnarstapi Village, Snæfellsnes Peninsula, Snæfellsjökull Glacier & much more

Your adventure begins bright and early with a cruise from Reykjavik to the small fishing village of Stykkishólmur, where you will spend a leisurely afternoon, planning and preparing for the next three days of kayaking. 

You will set out the next morning, heading out into the startlingly beautiful Breiðafjörður Bay. This enormous bay separates the Snæfellsness Peninsula from the Vestfjords and is studded with islands of every shape and size, certainly Iceland's premium sea-kayaking location.  You will paddle through the archipelago, making on shore stop-offs when the opportunity arises. 

Your overnight camping sites will be decided each morning, the evenings of which will be spent relaxing by the sea with a panoramic view of the bay with its islands, the Snæfellsjökull glacier to the vest and the rugged Vestfjords peninsula to the north.

After three days of adventurous paddling, you will reach shore in Stykkishólmur on the evening of our fourth day.  From the village you will cruise along the Snæfellsnes Peninsula towards the glacier, finding somewhere on camp along the way.  The following day you will explore the magnificent alcoves, sea cliffs and beaches of this awe-inspiring and seldom visited area.  In the afternoon you will drive all the way up to the roots of the Snæfellsjökull glacier and enjoy an evening walk from Arnarstapi, your final camp site.  From there you will head to Hellnar alcove for some delicious fish soup in the Fjöruhúsið Restaurant.  The following morning you will drive back to Reykjavik and arrive back around lunchtime.

This trip will show you Iceland in a way no other trip can, combining the rich Icelandic sea faring heritage with glaciers, islands, black sand beaches, volcanoes and awesome kayaking.
