Viking Ship Museum presents visitors with great Viking ship discoveries from such great vessels as Gokstad, Oseberg and Tune as well as other discoveries from Viking tombs around the Oslo Fjord.
The world's two best-preserved wooden Viking ships built in the 9th century, Gokstad and Oseberg are quite a spectacle to see with their sleek dark hulls. Some interesting artefacts in the museum include small boats, sledges, a cart with extraordinary ornamentations, implements, tools, harnesses, textiles and household utensils.
The ethnographic exhibitions help to provide visitors with an insight into the lives of the indigenous populations of the Arctic and sub-Arctic areas, North and South America and Africa.
